Tommy Emmanuel – unbelievable. What a night! TommyFEST was the name of the tour cause there was 4 acts during the night PLUS they all played together. I thought I was going to have to sit through 4 different people until Tommy came out, but no.
“Welcome to TOMMYFEST” … then out walks Tommy. BAM! He starts playing. I sat there for most of the night with my jaw dropped – absolutely blown away. An intimate room, a night of amazing music, and so much guitar playing. The best. Tommy was so much fun on stage and his guitar playing is second to none. So fast, so smooth, so inventive, so beautiful.
Not only was Tommy amazing, but the guys that he had with him. I think my favourite was Jake Shimabukuro – this Hawaiian guy who did everything that Tommy did on a ukelele. Had to see it to believe it.
Anyway, I could go on and on, but I won’t. I tried to record some of the last song with my camera – it isn’t amazing but it gives you a slight idea of what went on. This was the song where everyone gets up and has a go. Check my recording of TommyFEST here.

jasper is number one!
Sunday, October 15th, 2006this is my brother Darren’s son Jasper. Jasper is pretty much the funniest kid you will ever meet. He came down and joined me when I was playing ultimate frisbee the other day. He had the winning attitude equipped from his arrival.
I don’t think that my Mum had run him through the rules before he got there cause when he got the frisbee he bolted towards the goal with so much determination. His amazing little legs going at full speed. Gold.
