Laura and I went round to my mate Michael’s flat on the weekend. Was a great day – it overlooks the water and we sat on his veranda and took it easy with him and Debbie.

Apart from being in a great location, Michael’s flat is basically a petting zoo. Michael has: two bearded dragons, a shingle back lizard, scorpions, geckos, six green tree frogs, seven turtles and some fish. I have found out how much of a nancy I am. I was scared to get anywhere near most of them. I have made one friend though – Miyagi. Miyagi is a beautiful bearded dragon. Such an amazing lizard. He was named Miyagi since when he was younger he would establish his dominance to people by doing the ‘wax-on-wax-off’ movement.

Laura was a charger – she would touch and hold anything. Laura even kissed Miyagi and he reciprocated.

well I was right. An experience of a lifetime. I had been told that no band compares to U2 live and I thought that was a big call, but I will be suprised if I see another show like ever again.

The whole band was amazing at what they did, but it was more than that – it was a whole show, a production. I stood there amazed and speachless. Such a great night. We stood for over 6 hours to wait and see them but it was all worth it – all 2 hours and 30 minutes of it.

I took a bunch of shots. Some came out alright and these are it.

U2 tomorrow night. It is going to be an experience of a lifetime. I missed them 9 years ago when they came out – 9 YEARS I HAVE HAD TO WAIT! Crazy.

This is a great shot of them. I think it is out of the Joshua Tree booklet. Edge is the best. He looks like an old indian chief here.

While searching for shots of U2 I found a photographer named Andy Willsher who takes some really cool shots of famous musicians and personalities. I had a look through his website and found two really good photos of artists that I really love.

I love the darkness so I was quite upset to find out today that Justin Hawkins (front) from the band has formally left. The main reason is that he has been ‘busier than a one legged river dancer’ snorting cocaine. You can read the whole story here – pretty sad.

If you have never heard of the darkness then basically, the took the piss out of 80′s rock while still bringing something new and fun to them. Will be suprised if they ever do anything without Hawkins. He was the band.

I miss you already Justin … come back.
