Posters @ Newtown Posters @ Newtown

I find bill posters really interesting. As soon as an event is over, the next event’s posters are going up over the top. They get half ripped off, half stays there and decays, and if you look really close you can see how many layers there have been on certain walls.

I went to newtown today and took some shots up really close of some of the walls that have been home to band posters for years.

cronulla blows

Went down the beach today for lunch – was way too windy. Could have even been mega windy … I am not too sure. I’m not a mindreader.

iWeb then iCried

Friday, December 8th, 2006

Last week a mate rang me up to ask a question about the program iWeb. I hadn’t used it much. I was toying with the idea of using it to make my blog before I started this one – so I had the shell of a website called Paul. (I named it after me).

iWeb and iCried

I opened up iWeb and was walking this friend through a few steps.

“so just publish your folder to your desktop …” suddenly I started sweating and nearly threw up. I realised that without warning me (*!#$@*) iWeb had published a folder called Paul on the desktop OVERWRITING MY MAIN FOLDER called Paul. Consequently I had erased all of my business and personal files.

When I put down the phone and nearly collapsed. Luckily a few weeks ago I had backed up all the business stuff, but there are a tonne of photos and personal designs that I will never see again.

Thank you iWeb for the massive kick in the guts! I got my eye on you.

Looks like all my christmas’s have come at once … literally!

Paul and his Canon 400D

Today I bought (on behalf of others) a Canon EOS 400D. I can’t wait to get out there and get some good shots. Special thanks go to: Laura (especially), Darren & Amanda, Mum & Dad, and Winter’s Underground.

my fix of hendrix

I have been listening to heaps of Jimi Hendrix. I love the way he uses the guitar.

Jimi Hendrix - Axis: Bold as Love Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced? Jimi Hendrix - The Ultimate Experience

When i was in year 13 I was out shopping with Mum. I had seen Hendrix stuff in guitar magazines and heard him in movies. I saw this best of album, the ultimate experience, out the front of a CD store. I was standing there staring at it, wanting it, but didn’t want to say anything cause there was no reason why I should have it.
Mum looked at me and said “well … I have bought myself something today, so you can have something.” I have always remembered that. A year later, after saving up, I bought my wah-wah pedal.

I remember being so stoked. I listened to the CD inside out and still am. I never understood all of the music at the time, but I do now. I think my favourite track of all time is Little Wing off Axis: Bold as Love.
