Last night, a very brave friend of mine, Joseph Smith, performed at triple j’s Raw Comedy competition. I have got to say … I was pretty nervous for him. Joe is a funny guy – I have shared many a laughs with Joe … but stand up comedy is always going to be different. Crowds can be unpredictable and vicious.
But, once Joe hit the stage, that was all forgotten. One of the only good acts that night. Certainly the act that had the biggest reactions – they loved it.
Unfortunately Joe narrowly missed out on going through to the next round. At times during the night I was sure it was his for the taking. I was very entertained and very impressed. Joe’s five minutes were worth sitting through the other riff-raff. I’m looking forward to the next one!
yeah joe, i can imagine him killing a crowd and also telling some good jokes (better than that one). next time i might have to come and see joe lay down his stuff.
