let’s [reptile] party!

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

Jasper had his sixth birthday party today. It was a Reptile Party! A lady came along and showed us: blue tongued lizards, a long neck turtle, some shingle back lizards, a bearded dragon and two diamond pythons.

The kids loved it. So did Laura and I. Laura, again was a lot braver than me.

The highlight for the kids was when one of the young boys was holding the diamond python and it must have got nervous and gave way to its lunch. I have never seen anything like! There was fluid and solids everywhere and it kept coming from some place near the end of it’s tail. The kids were yelling, parents were running around and one poor kid copped it all over his leg. Priceless.

Hot Fuzz Blades of Glory

I can’t wait for these to come out. Hot Fuzz is the new movie from the guys that made Shaun of the Dead. Blades of Glory is Will Ferrell’s new one with John Heder from Napoleon Dynamite as well. Will Ferrell makes me cry – the good sort.

i buried my heart at albury

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Spent last week in Albury visiting our friends Adam and Kelly Nicholson. Was great to get away for a week, get use to the idea of going to Uni and adjust to everything. We did everything from attending other people’s family BBQ’s, doing ‘Deanies’ (hooning the main street in fancy wheels ie, Adam’s WRX and his father’s Soarer, not my Camry), to playing Buck Hunter, poker, basketball and floating down the Murray River. Loads of fun.

Albury Sky - it goes on and on Full Moon in the Albury Sky

I also had a chance to test out my camera at night. I was really happy with the shot of the moon. Albury skies are so clear at night and so blue during the day. Laura took the portrait of Adam above – one of his best angles.

Back to my last few weeks at work now. Uni on the 26th of Feb.
