On Saturday Luke and I went to the opening of HAM – a cafe in Cronulla that I did the logo and signs for. The place looks spectacular and the coffee is the best around – really happy with it. Go and check it out if you are in the area. You will love it.

I took this the other day cause it looked like ‘the lady on the mantle’ had a t-rex shadow chasing her. How would you escape from that? Probably just go into a dark room hey.

This is now my favourite album cover. DJ Funki Porcini’s album Fast Asleep. I haven’t heard any of the music; just loved the design. If you have a close look at the photo you can find the album and artist title.

My love for movies and design helped me recently stumble upon an artist called Eric Tan who works for Pixar. On his blog are some of his poster designs for movies he has worked on or liked. I love the style of it – a lot of them are done really retro.

Yesterday Luke and I were in Newtown for lunch. We parked in this side street and as I got out of the car we noticed this art gallery sort of thing. The doors were open so we wandered in and met a guy called Nick. Turns out it is a space that a production group does whatever they want with it – short films, theatre productions, art shows. It was a great space.

It was all set up for a book launch and they had all this really impressive art on the walls – turns out they were the original sketches. Luke and I were rapt in them. Nick invited us back for the book launch but we couldn’t make it. I found these pictures on their website. The book is called ‘Midnight Morning‘.
