Last night I was able to see a preview screening of U2-3D at the IMAX theatre (imagine that). It is as it sounds – U2 in 3D. I can comfortably say, it was the best thing I have ever seen in a cinema. I could go on, but that about sums it up.

Tonight Laura and I played Scattegories with my parents. Round 2 was ‘Things starting with ‘F’. Item 9 was ‘A Store Name’. We go round the circle – someone had ‘Franklins’, others couldn’t think of one … then Mum says “F – U – C – K!”. “Sorry?” “F – U – C – K!! You know – that clothing store in America!”

There it was – written in big letters. Click the image if you need to see it more clearly. Never heard of that store? Next time you are in America then just ask a local where the “F – U – C – K store” is.

Laura and I went to Bingo the other night. I don’t know who decided to revamp bingo, but it is a different game these days! What happened to the good old days when someone up the front would have a barrel of numbers, the ball would come out and a number would be announced with an appropriate rhyme?!

These days if you blink you will miss it! I very regularly did. The ladies read out the numbers so fast it was like their house was on fire and they had to finish this up to get back and help the firemen. Still, a lot of fun for $2.

This year will bring some movies that I have been waiting a long time for. I grew up on Indiana Jones and there was always talk of a fourth movie. It has been 19 years since The Last Crusade was released, and I gave up after 17 years … I look stupid now! I can’t wait. I don’t care how old Harrison Ford is, he is still cool plus it will have Shia LaBeouf in it which will kick the movie into this millennium.

I loved the Tim Burton ‘Batman’ movies but after that it quickly went south. I was really stoked when Batman Begins wiped the slate clean and returned to the gritty and the dark. The Dark Knight has a lot of room for error since The Joker has already been done so well by Jack Nicholson. From what I have seen though, it is going to be good.

A Speed Racer film had to be made sometime, and who better to make it than the Watchowski (use to be brothers) Siblings – search the net for that story. The style looks amazing and the Watchowskis really have an idea of what good action is. I just hope that they recreate Speed’s overly girlie / breathy scream faithfully.

I won’t go on, but Flight of the Conchords is one of the funniest shows around. It is about two guys in a band that move to New York to make it big. There is much to laugh at – yeah, even more than just their accents! I went through the whole series in a week and intend to do it many more in the next 4 months I have off.
