Luna Park

FisherKing went to Melbourne the other week to play a couple of shows. We were put up in St Kilda – such a beautiful place. In some of the little down time we had I went walkabout and found Luna Park.  Pretty sure he isn’t laughing at me … there must have been someone behind me.

If you are keen to check out a few more photos of the trip and a few of the shows we played, make your way to the fisherking website.

Explode Showcase Explode Showcase

Morning Coffee Garage

Adelaide was an amazing experience.  Apart from it being all free, it was just great to be part of such a big music festival/fair with all the attention on making music and having a career in the music industry.  Great stuff.

The Explode Showcase was too much fun.  Even though I couldn’t get any good photos of us when we played (cause I was busy) I got some great ones of other bands, and then a few around town.  To check out more photos, see the fisherking website.  These are just some of my favourites.

FisherKing win Fuse

Found out yesterday that FisherKing won triple j’s Fuse Festival Unearthed competition. We are all pretty amped.  In 2 weeks time we are flown down to Adelaide to play at an industry showcase.

It was pretty suprising to log onto triple j’s website and find 4 familiar faces staring back!

FisherKing went to Melbourne last week to play a gig with Bonjah.  It was a great night – thanks to everyone who came down the Veludo and made it a great night.  We were lucky enough to spend the next day hanging out in Melbourne and even a brief stint in Albury.

Unfortunately I missed my friends Kelly and Adam from Albury cause Kelly was too busy giving birth to her son Ayce.  I’m a little annoyed they couldn’t fit me in, but still – great for them.

John Scofield

I was a little disappointing that I missed out on seeing John Scofield in concert the last week … then I found out he was doing a workshop at the conservatorium for free. BAM!

Rocked up 10 minutes before it started and Baher, Luke and I sat our bad asses in the front row – even though it was packed, people had left three seats at the front. Must have known we were coming. I was a metre from him and his pedal board (gee he had some cool toys). It was unbelievable. He was an brilliant guitarist and such a down to earth and inspiring guy.
